Part of the spacious bedroom
This charming cottage, with its pretty natural stone façade, is located in the medieval village of Olargues in the Haut Languedoc. It retains much of its original character plus modern amenities, nestling in the oldest part of the village amongst other equally delightful stone built houses. Access via a steep cobbled lane, a 5-minute walk from the car park. Many visitors have come back to savour the tranquility and beauty of this area. You too can relax far away from the holiday crowds in one of the most striking and least developed areas of Mediterranean France.
Additional Information
The village is self sufficient with 2 bakers, a general store, butcher, tobacconist and chemist plus 2 bars and various restaurants. The Gorges d’Héric, a ten-minute drive away, is one of the most outstanding beauty spots in this mountain range. The area offers spectacular walks, hiking and swimming in the crystal clear waters of the gorge’s deep rock pools and local lakes and rivers. In the nearby village of Mons is a mountain adventure centre offering climbing, canyoning and mountain biking. Mountain and all terrain bikes including child seats and transporters are also available for hire in Olargues. The river Orb provides some of the best canoeing and kayaking in France. Golf, fishing, horse riding, tennis and much more can also be found locally.
Olargues is also an ideal centre for touring the Languedoc; an area steeped in history and providing a wealth of breathtaking mountains, sun-soaked beaches and ancient towns.
The house is not suitable for the very young or very old.
