Torrevieja lies 30 miles south of Alicante airport. The complex boasts the largest swimming pool in the area and is surrounded by landscaped gardens. Nearby Torrevieja is a popular resort surrounded by natural salt water lagoons which are homes to a variety of flamingoes and wildlife, Torrevieja has a large marina with over a thousand berths, a magnificent promenabde, harbour walk,abundant bars, restaurants and shops. Within 1 to 1.5 hours drive are Alicante, Benidorm and the Mar Menor. Alicante and Murcia have excellent shopping centres and are interesting for sightseeing with their splendid architecture and historical monuments. Benidorm has numerous attractions with the addition of the new theme park Terra Mitica, which is attracting many visitors. The Mar Menor, ideal for water sports, has beautiful beaches, including La Manga with its well known golf course.
Also approximately 1.5 hours drive inland are 2 health spas/mineral hot springs (Archena and Fortuna) set in the magnificent surroundings amidst mountains, palm trees, orange and lemon groves, where one can bathe in temperatures of over 30 degrees centigrade in the winter months or receive special medicinal mineral water treatments.
